100-Mile Partnership with The Daily Green
MAY 24, 2007--While Vancouver and New York are 2,500 miles (or 4,000 kilometres) away, online we're just a click apart. We are excited that Hearst Magazines--which has the first LEED gold-certified, or ecologically constructed, building in New York--has put its might behind a new web magazine with a conscience, The Daily Green. They've asked us to jump aboard for the ride.
For Memorial Day weekend festivities, we contributed recipes for Sangria Blanca, Egg and Smoked Trout Salad with Mayo, Spring Greens with Wheat Berries, and Rhubarb Whipped Cream. Enjoy this late spring meal whether you will be waving the flag or not this weekend. We designed it to work in as many locations in North America as possible.
The Daily Green offers other tips to green up America's red-white-and-blue holiday, from taking a local holiday to enjoying organic beer. They take things far beyond the national celebration, with articles on everything from the pleasures of neighbourhood beekeeping to the dangers of toxic toothpaste. We can hardly wait for future projects with the Daily Green--watch for them to host our long-dreamed-of meet-up service for 100-mile eaters in North America. -ADS
